Antique circa 1900, pre-1920s Arapatti Tamil Nadu, India belt.  Made of about 10 strands of braided silver and decorated with seventeen (17) repousse' panels with a pin closure and floral medallion central buckle piece.  Measures about 30" long x 1.25".  Weighs about 400 grams.  Some silver strand pieces have breaks but does not affect the strength and form of the belt.  In good sued condition.  Signs of wear commensurate with age and use.  High status people in India wore their wealth as a belt.
